Player Equipment
Uniform kits are included with registration. The kit includes 2 jerseys (blue/white), shorts, and socks. Other equipment is available at most area sporting goods stores. A 20% coupon to Dick's Sporting Goods will be emailed to you as part of your registration confirmation.
At a minimum, ALL children will need the following:
- Jersey: All players 6U and older will need two jerseys - one blue and one white.
- Shin Guards: All players must wear shin guards at all times during practice and games. No exceptions. When you buy shin guards, please check the packaging to make sure they are the correct size for your child. Ideally, shin guards should go from about an inch above the shoe to just below the knee.
- Socks: Soccer socks must be worn over the shin guards, color can be determined by the team or coach. It helps the referees if the socks are all the same color for a team, but it’s not a problem if they’re different.
- Shoes: Cleats are suggested for playing soccer. They must be soccer cleats and NOT baseball cleats or football cleats. The main difference is that soccer cleats don’t have a cleat immediately under the front of the shoe (they don’t have a toe cleat). That’s what the referee is looking for when the ref checks cleats before a match. See the FAQ about shoes for further information.
- Balls: All children should have a ball for practice. Size is important:
- Playground/Schoolyard, 6U, & 8U require a size 3 ball
- 10U & 12U require a size 4 ball
- 14U,16U, & 19U require a size 5 ball
