(Coed)
Your child
MUST have been 4 years old
by July 31, 2008 to play 2009
Spring Soccer.
"Playing Up" in Divisions:
Players are
NOT
allowed to move Up or down. Any player who
wants to play in a division other than the one
their birthday falls in will NOT be
allowed to do so. We do not expect to
allow any exceptions for this 2007 Fall Soccer
season. Even players
who previously moved up should expect to be
placed in their correct division.
Coaches kids will
be the only ones who will be even considered for
moving up. This policy has to be enforced
because of safety concerns and any exception
must be approved by the
Regional Commissioner.
Board members and coaches will be available at
registration to address any questions.
Practices:
U6
teams practice 1 time a week. Some games
are Friday nights.
U8 – U19 teams practice 2 times a
week. Practices will be at Pellissippi
Fields, Watt Road, Anchor Park,
Northshore and various other locations
all around the Farragut area. Places and
times to be determined by coaches
sign-up.
Requests for
specific practice times/fields cannot be
honored
Games:
Farragut AYSO plays
games on Saturdays at their fields in front of the Pellissippi
College just off Hardin Valley Rd and Pellissippi
Parkway. Inter-regional games are also
scheduled for older players in the U10 through
U19
divisions. These games are usually within 1
hour of Knoxville.
Some U6
team games are scheduled for Friday
nights.
Volunteering:
We always need
volunteers! Board
Positions, Registrar, Coaches, Assistant
Coaches, Referees, Assistant Referee,
Field Prep, Team Parents, Hotline,
T-shirt coordinators, and Camp
Coordinators are always needed!
Coaches and Referees are an important
part of the AYSO program. Consider
coaching a team and if you don’t think
you have enough time, consider
co-coaching with a friend so
each of you can coach one practice or
one game. It’s important to the kids! We
are always trying to round up coaches
since we sometimes have too many kids
and too few coaches!
Withdrawing:
If you need to
withdraw your child from AYSO soccer,
you may get your money back as long as
practices have not started. Once
practices start, your money is forfeited
or reduced. Contact the coach prior to
practice or call the AYSO hotline and
leave a message. Your call will be
returned as soon as possible.

Early-Bird Registration cost per season

be able to practice or play unless
they are wearing shin guards.

soccer. They must be soccer cleats
and NOT baseball cleats.

children should have a ball for
practice. Size is important:
Under 6 and
Under 8 require a size 3
ball
Under 10 and
Under 12 require a size 4
ball
Under 14,
Under 16, & Under 19 1 require a
size 5 ball

Uniform
Clarification
A quick
note on soccer shoes from Jack Graham,
Region 128 Referee Administrator:
We had a question
come up about soccer shoes and what is
acceptable. FIFA and the shoe
manufacturers have made many changes in
soccer shoes over the last few years -
and made our job as referees more
difficult in some ways - If the shoe is
made for soccer it is probably
acceptable (either an indoor or an
outdoor shoe)
A
quick summary - Just about any shoe with
some sort of traction and good
protection of the foot is an acceptable
soccer shoe. If the shoe is safe
to play in and is safe for the other
players on the field, it should be
allowed. What to watch out for is long
and very narrow or sharp cleats usually
at the toe that will cut or injure
another player if they slide into them.
Rounded or gentle ridges or nubs that
will not cut may be allowed, even if
they could conceivably bruise without
penetrating the skin.
Whether the cleat is hard plastic,
nylon, or has a metal end piece is not
the question. The question to ask is:
Will it slash or penetrate with a sharp
point or narrow ridge? In which case the
answer is - NO. Or is it a blunt object
that may bruise but will not cause a
penetration injury? In which case in
general the answer will be - YES.
Sandals - NO - not safe for
the person wearing them inadequate
support and protection
Golf Shoes, Track Shoes - NO
- not safe pointed spikes that will
penetrate and cause puncture wounds.
Dress shoes - discouraged
highly - too smooth on the bottom
and slippery risk to player wearing
them and the other players from loss
of traction and sliding out of
control.
Cross country running shoes,
Tennis shoes, Keds, etc. - YES.
Parents,
coaches and referees need to keep this
clarification in mind and work together
to ensure that the players are safe
while out on the pitch. If
